162 reviewsThe East Dart Inn is a 19th Century coaching inn, situated in Postbridge, at the centre of Dartmoor, close to the Dartmoor National Park visitor centre and the clapper bridge over the East Dart River. It is an ideal location for exploring the miles of walking across Dartmoor, all the tors to discover, and the ponies to find roaming the area. Its central position also makes for ease of exploring Devon beyond, with the towns of Tavistock and Newton Abbot, and Exeter being only 45 minutes away.
The East Dart Inn offers eight bed and breakfast rooms, all individually decorated, with an en-suite bath/shower room, tea and coffee making facilities, a TV, complimentary toiletries, and free wi-fi throughout the inn.
We also welcome dogs to stay with you, but please inform us that you need a dog friendly room. Your dog is also welcome in the bar, and you can have your breakfast in the bar with them, if you wish. Please just ask when you arrive so that can be arranged. There is a charge of £15 per night for your dog.
Breakfast is included with your room, and you can choose from a breakfast menu including anything from a full English to scrambled egg on toast. There is also cereal, yoghurts and fruit juice available. Just what you need before a day's walking or exploring out and about.
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, then we can add those special touches to your room, to make it a weekend to remember. Just let us know when you book your stay.
There is also an eight-bed bunk room, with an en-suite shower room and a kettle and mugs for your use. Bedding can be hired for a small charge, and breakfast is available in the bar after 9.30am at an additional cost.
All guests have use of our drying room, for those damp moor days.
Packed lunches can also be provided for guests, please ask when you arrive for your stay.
We also have a lunch and dinner menu in the bar, as well as selection of local ales, ciders, and gins. Or you may prefer a tea or coffe with your meal.
We also do Sunday roasts from 12pm, but booking is advisable as when it has gone it is gone!
A warm welcome awaits you at the East Dart Inn, to have a drink, eat or stay with us.
