Seaton
Picturesque fishing village with high chalk cliffs.
Nr Kingsbridge, Modbury
A beautiful large sandy beach ideal for watersports, especially surfing. Swimming is safe if you stay within the marked area which is patrolled by life guards.
Dawlish
Dawlish Warren prides itself on being one of South Devon's top family beaches. Distinctive sand dunes and an internationally recognised nature reserve add uniqueness to this 8 time European Blue Flag award winning beach.
Exmouth
Sandy Bay in Exmouth is a half-mile long privately owned beach which is sheltered and ideal for families. The beach is good for swimming and water sports, and there is a lifeguard during the summer months.
Nr Kingsbridge
This is a sheltered, sandy beach in a traditional fishing village in the beautiful South Hams. The waters are calm and still so relatively safe for swimming. Facilities include; shops, parking, toilets, dogs allowed, easy access, nature and wildlife.
Dartmouth
Superb stretch of golden sand and shingle in a sheltered, unspoilt bay with turquoise blue sea and surrounding pines. It's safe and good swimming, and the water is clean and clear. First Aid facilities are available.
Nr Kingsbridge
A stunning sandy beach in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) joined by causeway to Burgh Island. Shallow water for paddling and rock pools for exploring. Bigbury on Sea is a popular family beach and great for windsurfing and kite surfing.
Teignmouth
A long sandy beach from the mouth of the River Teign east towards Dawlish. Free summer entertainment, with the added attraction of the Victorian Pier and a state-of-the-art childern's play area.
Slapton
Slapton sands is a beautiful pebble beach that stretched for almost two miles from Strete Gate to the village of Torcross. Don't let the pebbles put you off, it's a great beach with plenty of room to have a large piece of it to yourself!
Nr Salcombe
Opposite the town of Salcombe on the eastern side of the estuary is a long sandy stretch skirting round the coast from East Portlemouth almost to the open sea. East Portlemouth beach is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
