How to Get Here

South Devon has excellent road, rail and air links which make the region easily accessible from all areas of the UK – so you are never far away from the breathtaking landscape and one of the best UK holiday destinations. To help you plan your journey – below you will find information on how best to reach all areas within South Devon.

By Car

South Devon is easy to reach by road with the M5 from Bristol, Cardiff or Birmingham, and all points along the M4 corridor. From London and the South East, the A30/A303/M3 offers an alternative, high quality scenic route to the outer borders of South Devon, coming into the area via Honiton.

For Tiverton or Crediton, take the M5 Junction 27, and for Cullompton take the M5 Junction 28. For Honiton and Axminster, take M5 Junction 29.

For Exeter, Exmouth, and connecting routes to Sidmouth and Seaton, take M5 Junction 30.

At the end of the M5, you have the options of taking the coast road (A379) to Dawlish or the A380 for Teignmouth, Newton Abbot and English Riviera. Or continue along the A38 for Totnes, Dartmouth, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, and Plymouth.

By Coach

Exeter airport is five miles from the city of Exeter and is situated adjacent to the A30, close to junction 29 of the M5 motorway.

Flights operate to and from London City Airport twice a day, the Manchester route has up to four flights a day for global connectivity, and with a daily Paris and Amsterdam service Exeter Airport can claim to be a real gateway to the South West.
