About
Taste of the Teign is a Food and Drink Festival that takes place in the last week of September (21st-28th) in Teignmouth, Shaldon and the surrounding countryside.
What’s happening in 2019?
Throughout the week, participating local food and drink businesses host events such as tastings and masterclasses, feature special menus, based on foods available from around the Teign Estuary , such as mussels, crabs, jams, cakes, ales, gin, wine and much more.
The week’s events will be published on our website and advertised generally in summer 2019, so watch this space.
Great food, drink and beautiful surroundings. We looking forward to seeing you there!
The famous Food Trail
From the hills of Bishopsteington to visit an award winning brewery, ‘Red Rock’, to strolling through Teignmouth to visit ‘The Bronx’ for masterclass Cocktails then on to the ‘CrabShack’ for some delicious locally caught seafood, whilst taking in Teignmouth’s beautiful seafront. Then why not travel by ferry to Shaldon, to stop off at Café Ode, an award winning and sustainability focused restaurant, before a ‘proper locals’ beer in the ShipWrights Arms”
See our website for all our full food trail map.
Why (as if we need to tell you right?!)
The Teign Estuary and the beaches of Teignmouth and Shaldon are a fabulous natural resource, a haven for wildlife and a key reason why people like living here and visiting too. Did you know that Britain’s oldest working foot ferry operates between Teignmouth and Shaldon and is a delightful way to take in the landscape.
