Eastcliff Park is located to the north of Teignmouth town centre. This large open space sits on top of the red cliffs overlooking the sea and the railway line, a foot path can be found leading down from the car park to the coast and Teignmouth beach.
The park is a diverse and historically significant local green space which consists of three distinct parts, The Rowdens; a lawn area with large Rhododendrons and Mules Park, open grassland as well as The Dell; a sub-tropical garden which is hidden within the open grassland. Within the Dell you’ll find three ponds to wander around. It’s a peaceful place with beautiful flowers and plants to enjoy whilst walking along the winding paths. There is also a more formal walled garden to explore within the park.
The park offers all its users a relaxing recreational environment which is perfect for dog walking, outdoor games and picnicking whilst you watch the world go by. The open grasslands of Mules Park provides the ideal setting for budding nature lovers to explore the rich array of wildlife and insects found hiding amongst the grass.
Eastcliff Park is set across a steeply sloping site, there are hand rails in place at the southern entrance to the park which is adjacent to Eastcliff car park. All the paths are constructed from crushed white grit to make them easily distinctive from the grassed and shrub areas.
Eastcliff pay and display car park can be found to the South of the park, with access off Dawlish Road. Other facilities found at the park includes toilets.
Eastcliff park is looked after by Teignbridge District Council and The Friends of Eastcliff, a group of local residents who are working for the future of the park and restoring sections including the Dell and Walled Garden.
