Simon Weston CBE

Opening Times

Sorry, this event has passed

When the RFA Sir Galahad was destroyed in the Bluff Cove Air Attack during the Falklands War in 1982, on board was Simon Weston.

The Welsh Guardsman was badly injured, sustaining serious burns to 46 percent of his body. He has become well known across the United Kingdom and abroad for his message of achievement, of triumph in the face of adversity, and for seizing the moment.

In this year, the fortieth anniversary of the Falklands conflict, Simon will talk about his experiences and how they have shaped the life he leads today. He will also be answering questions from the audience.

Public Transport Directions

BY BUS
The UNI bus has replaced the D bus and runs via the High Street to right in front of the theatre's main entrance. The bus remains part of Stagecoach's public network and live departure and arrival times as well as timetables can be checked on the Stagecoach website. The current UNI bus timetable can be viewed here. Please note, the UNI bus currently runs less frequently on Saturdays and does not run past 6.50pm (last bus from Exeter High Street) Monday – Friday.

BY TRAIN
We are easy to reach from both Exeter Central Station and St Davids Station. The UNI bus stops right outside Central Station, every 15 minutes on Mon-Fri and every 30 mins on Saturday. From St Davids, it's a 1 km walk up the hill, or a short taxi ride from the taxi stand by the station entrance.
