Get ready to discover an unforgettable day. Canonteign Falls is nestled in the heart of Devon, where nature’s beauty meets family fun! You’ll explore the South West’s highest waterfall, playgrounds, trails, and surprises spread across 90 acres. If you’re looking for tranquillity, then you’ll find that too. Our moss-covered streams, lakes, ancient woodlands and meadows offer the perfect peace in a world of excitement. Explore this unique combination of adventure and serenity at Canonteign Falls. Complete with a shop and café it’s a perfect day out for the whole family.
Escape the crowds and experience the highest waterfall in Dartmoor National Park. The climb to Lady Exmouth’s falls takes you on a journey through Canonteign’s past where natural waterfalls have existed for generations.
The Victorian Fern Garden, awarded Plant Heritage National Collection status in 2022, is a magical fern-lined hanging valley with twisting paths, babbling stream and prehistoric-looking ferns. Carry on through the garden to view the Falls themselves and see the panorama of the Devon countryside at your feet.
To explore further afield, head down to the Lower Lakes for a complete contrast. These sheltered, sunny meadows are home to a series of interlocking lakes, where you can wander beside the water, over bridges and among the wildlife.
World-famous maze maker Adrian Fisher designed Canonteign’s Labyrinth. Seven paved rings have been set into the grass overlooking the Devon countryside.
Canonteign allows children to discover nature at its best and gives parents a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Explore the adventure playgrounds with trampolines, wooden galleon, zip wire and mini assault course. Children adore the challenge of the steps up to the Falls, spotting our resident fairies and willow animals along the way.
Serves homemade food which champions local produce. Discover our seasonal lunches, homemade cakes, Devon cream teas, Barista coffee, and special children’s menu.
Entry to the Kitchen and shop is free, and dogs are welcome inside and out.
