South Devon is electric vehicle ready

From the market towns of Axminster and Honiton to the beaches in Seaton or Sidmouth and the historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth, there is a network of over 50 chargers to keep you on the move.

Thanks to Wenea’s Rapid Charging Devon and Connect Plymouth projects, it’s no longer a challenge to drive across South Devon fossil fuel free.

Rapid and ultra-rapid EV chargers can be found across the region so it’s easy to hop from Axminster or Exeter to Plymouth. You can charge your electric vehicle in less than 30 minutes with an ultra-rapid charger or in around 1 hour with a rapid charger, all supplied with 100% renewable energy

What to do while you charge

Make your trip to South Devon stress free by planning your car charging in advance. Why not enjoy exploring these unique areas with the peace of mind of a full battery when you return.

Exeter Quayside

Here you’ll find flat cycle paths and walks along the route of the Canal and River Exe plus several eateries along the way. If you fancy getting even more active, the Quay is home to the South West’s largest climbing wall, with over 200 climbing routes.

For foodies, The Quay is perfect. Find local and independent restaurants and cafés from seafood favourite Rockfish to the place of legendary dustbin lid pizzas - On The Waterfront. You will find two 30 kW RCD chargers on Haven Road, on the Quay.

Lympstone

Find two RCD rapid vehicle charging points on Underhill Crescent. From here, take a stroll through Lympstone’s historic cobbled streets and quayside, paddle in the estuary, feed the ducks or relax at one of the village’s many pubs and tearoom.

Plymouth

Devon’s port city, steeped in maritime heritage, offers plenty to do whilst your car charges. Connect Plymouth city centre rapid chargers can be in Whimple Street and the Theatre Royal car park. Both chargers are under 10 minutes walk to the city’s famous Barbican port with plenty of specialist shops, independent cafes and restaurants.

The Future

We are expanding our Rapid Charging Devon and Connect Plymouth network to cover more areas and we aim to have 200 chargers deployed across the UK by the end of 2023.

Wenea’s mission is to lead the transition to sustainable mobility by deploying the largest network of rapid chargers across the UK.
