The Railway Inn is a family owned and operated business, located in the heart of the English Riviera. A warm and friendly Devon Inn and welcoming 6 Bedroom Hotel, our focus is on delicious cuisine using locally sourced, amazing fresh Devon produce and successfully merging wonderful hospitality with great food. Whether you drop in simply for a drink, something to eat or a place to stay – we offer it all. Fabulous accommodation in a well placed areas for sightseeing.
Passionate about good honest food, locally sourced. Great food can only come from quality ingredients and we use local suppliers wherever possible. A fantastic Sunday Lunch - served all day - booking recommended.
We have a wide range of drinks from Local Real Ales and fine wines, all chosen with care from the best brewers and wine merchants in the area. Our range of soft drinks includes Luscombes juices from Buckfastleigh, Devon.
Real Ales from Dartmoor Brewer, Hunters Brewery (Ipplepen), Salcombe Brewery.
Great Wines from Regency Wines of Exeter who also supply us with an extensive Spirits Menu which include amazing Gin and Rum.
Situated adjacent to Dartmouth Steam Railway – so you can spend some time with us and then enjoy a great ride on a Steam Train – the only attraction in Devon that lets you enjoy the delights of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham, Dartmouth the River Dart, Kingswear & Totnes on your day out. Our great beer garden faces the Railway where you can sit and watch the old steam trains. Delightful.
Catch the bus outside the Inn to visit Greenway – The family home of Agatha Christie. Agatha Christie used to visit the Inn whilst waiting for her train and could be seen writing at a table in the restaurant. A vintage typewriter, the same as used by Agatha Christie, can be seen at the Inn. Churston Station was the location for the opening scene in “The System”, a 1964 film.
We are Covid-19 secure. Please be patient at busy times. Our Covid-19 procedures slow us down - but keep us safe - customers + staff.
