Our recent visit to the University of Exeter was a delightful experience, filled with rich history, stunning views, and excellent facilities. Situated in the heart of Devon, the university offers a vibrant and diverse atmosphere, perfect for students and visitors alike.
Our journey began at Reed Hall, a building steeped in history and charm. Originally built in 1867 as a family home, this beautiful Italianate mansion now serves as a premier event venue managed by Event Exeter. The hall's grand architecture and picturesque gardens create a serene environment, making it a perfect spot for conferences and special occasions. Wandering through its ornate rooms and lush grounds, we could easily see why it's such a beloved venue.
Next, we explored the student accommodations, which offer a perfect place to stay during the summer months when students are away. These facilities are not only comfortable and well-maintained but also conveniently located close to the city centre. For anyone visiting Exeter during the summer, these accommodations provide an ideal base to explore the city and surrounding areas.
Exeter University boasts a range of exceptional student facilities. We toured the Sports Park, which includes a state-of-the-art gym, an indoor tennis centre, and an all-weather pitch. The Great Hall, a venue for many significant university events, was equally impressive with its modern design and ample space. We also visited the Business School, which offers cutting-edge resources and a conducive learning environment for future business leaders. These facilities cater to a variety of interests and academic pursuits, ensuring that students have access to everything they need to succeed.
The university is renowned for its sporting facilities, catering to a variety of interests. Whether you're into tennis, swimming, or rugby, Exeter has it all. The tennis courts are top-notch, the swimming pool is pristine, and the rugby pitch is a testament to the university's strong sporting tradition. These facilities are not only available to students but also open to the local community, fostering a vibrant sports culture.
One of the highlights of our visit was the breathtaking view of the Exe Estuary and Exeter from several vantage points around the campus. The serene waters and sprawling cityscape provide a perfect backdrop for a day at the university, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle.
Our day ended with a culinary adventure at Forum Kitchen, where we sampled an Indo-Malay dish. This vibrant eatery is a favourite among students, offering a diverse menu that showcases food from around the world. Regular events featuring local businesses give students a taste of Exeter's local flavours, adding to the rich cultural experience of studying at the university.
Exeter University is a remarkable place, offering a blend of rich history, modern facilities, and beautiful natural surroundings. Whether you're a prospective student, a visitor, or just passing through, this vibrant university community has something for everyone to enjoy.
