Easter is fast approaching and with that comes endless amounts of chocolate, lots of family time and school holidays. If you’re spending your Easter break in South Devon then we’ve put this special blog post together for you to find out what’s happening in the region during this period. From family days out at a racecourse to animal extravaganzas, you’re sure to find some great Easter events on during this lovely time of year for the whole family to enjoy and even a few just for adults too! Easter Holiday Hunt (23rd March – 15th April)
Make your way to The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth to enjoy an Easter Holiday Hunt and extra fun activities during the school holidays such as guided tours and donkey talks. Easter Holiday Hunt sheets are £3. For more information, please click here.
Dinosaur Easter Egg Hunt (24th March – 15th April)
At Torquay’s Dinosaur World you can expect a fantastic Easter extravaganza as you try to find out who’s been stealing the dinosaur eggs in their Dinosaur Easter Egg Hunt. £6.95 per visitor plus a Paleo Pass which gives FREE unlimited re-entry for 3 months. Easter Fair at South Devon Railway (30th March – 2nd April)
Jump on the South Devon Railway this Easter and enjoy a special ride on a steam train with vintage vehicles on display at Buckfastleigh too for their Easter Fair. You can also participate in an Easter Egg Hunt at Buckfastleigh. Please click here for more information.
Easter Brass Rubbing Trail (30th March – 2nd April)
Join the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey as they launch their brass rubbing trail this Easter, with special treats over the bank holiday weekend. Just £1 which includes crayons and a booklet, the trail will continue after Easter too. To find out more, please click here.
Easter Holiday Fun at World of Country Life (30th March – 15th April)
Get hands on at World of Country Life in Exmouth this half term with tons of fantastic events; including an Easter Trail, Mad Hat Tea Party, arts and crafts as well as some new arrivals in the Pet Centre and Animal Nursery. Easter Holidays at Pennywell Farm (30th March – 15th April)
Home to the adorable miniature pigs, this Easter Pennywell Farm in Buckfastleigh celebrates in style with all the usual exciting activities as well as special working gundog shows (6th April), live entertainment and more! More details about the event can be found here.
Easter at Woodlands (30th March – 15th April)
Woodlands Family Theme Park has a jam-packed calendar this Easter to keep you and the kiddies entertained. From the 30th of March to the 2nd of April take part in Eggstreme Easter with Easter Egg Hunts, craft workshops and more. Fizz Pop Science join in the fun on the 30th of March and 6th of April to bring you science shows and slime making workshops! Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts with National Trust (30th March – 15th April)
Take part in a thrilling Easter Egg Hunt at one of the National Trust properties in South Devon. Prices and dates vary, normal admission fees apply, please see individual events for further details by clicking on the name of the property. They are being held at Greenway House near Brixham, Coleton Fishacre in Kingswear, Compton Castle in Paignton and at A la Ronde in Exmouth.
Easter Saturday Fun Day (31st March)
On Easter Saturday, make your way to Newton Abbot Town Centre for a whole host of free activities for you and your little ones to enjoy. This includes face painting, balloon magic and an Easter egg giveaway. You can find out more about this event by clicking here.
Creation Station at Powderham Castle (1st – 6th April)
This Easter break, head to Powderham Castle to get arty with your little ones! Creation Station are holding 4 sessions per day, letting kiddies get hands on and make their own masterpieces out of willow, clay and other materials. If you would like to know more about this event, please click here.
Easter Holiday Club (2nd April – 13th April)
Head to SeaSports South West in Teignmouth during the holidays for their Easter Holiday Club, where children over the age of eight years old can take part in a two or five-day water sport course. Family Day at Exeter Racecourse (8th April)
During the Easter break why not enjoy a full day of fun at Exeter Racecourse on their family day! Kids under 17 go free and there are plenty of great activities to get involved in on the day – as well as the usual riveting races! A special visit from Peter Rabbit can be expected on the day too as well as jockeys’ autograph sessions. Further information about this unique event is available here.
Jack and the Beanstalk: The Giant Easter Open-Air Family Panto (12th – 14th April)
Join in the pantomime fun at Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth with Jack and the Beanstalk. Bring along your own picnic and enjoy the show in the fresh air with evening shows and one matinee performance on the 14th of April. Find out about prices and times here.
Gin Festival Torquay (13th – 14th April)
Immerse yourself in a world of gin as you sample some of the finest from all over the world. Learn more about your favourite drink and meet top distillers as the UKs biggest gin festival comes to Torquay! Tickets £11 with different sessions available, this is a strictly over 18s event.
