Family day at Exeter Racecourse on Sunday, April 8 is free for kids and one the track's busiest and most action-packed days of the year.
There's fantastic racing, including two pony races, and loads of FREE children's activities, not to mention characters from the film Ice Age - Sid and Scrat - making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day.
With the film Peter Rabbit recently opening in cinemas across the UK, and the main character from the film, Peter, visiting the racecourse on Family Day, 8th April, #followtheracingrabbit campaign will see a cuddly version making appearance at famous venues up and down the country on his way Exeter Racecourse.
Take a peek behind the scenes with former jockey Ollie McPhail who will lead a tour of the racecourse when there will be a chance to get close to the steeple chase fences, learn about what happens in the weighing room and ask jockeys questions about the sport.
There will be jockeys' autograph sessions during the day, children's running races down the home straight, Dartmoor ponies to pat and groom, the chance to go on an equiciser, which is an imitation racehorse, wear jockeys' brightly coloured silks and meet Dexter, the racecourse's mascot horse.
New this year will be the launch of Junior Jumpers at Exeter – bringing children exclusive news about their favourite jockeys and horses, plus the chance to meet them and take part in special activities. Take a look at the details here http://cheltenham.thejockeyclub.co.uk/junior-jumpers.
There are host of other free activities too such as face painting and as well as the main racing action which includes two pony races.
