Miles of beaches, coast path walks and plenty of places to stay and enjoy a drink or a bite to eat, makes South Devon a ‘pawesome’ place to visit with your four-legged best friend.

With over forty different beaches* to enjoy along the South Devon coast, with just a few having dog restrictions in place between May and September, there are plenty of places to visit for a ‘doggy’ paddle in the sea or to feel the sand between the paws.

With many beaches being hugged by the South West Coast Path there are a variety of ‘Top Dog Walks’ to experience in South Devon too including the popular Bolberry Down and Slapton Ley walks which pass by, and through, the wonderful Soar Mill Cove and Slapton Sands respectively, with both beaches accessible to dogs all year round.

South Devon also has a ‘pawesome’ range of dog friendly places to eat and drink and the Doggy Devon community recommend just a few here:

“Our favourite is definitely The Guardhouse at Berry Head. Their recent Silver Award is well deserved, fab food.” Barbara

“One of our favourite places is The Cove Bar, Hope Cove. Great food, live bands, very friendly and superb welcome for your dog with treats available.” Lindsay

“We love to visit Finley Browns in Teignmouth. Always a friendly welcome for us and the dogs. Homemade food and the cakes are delicious.” Julie

Dogs are welcome at a wide range of accommodation providers in South Devon including holiday cottages, holiday parks, hotels and campsites. You can enjoy a ‘pawfect’ day out with your dog at attractions including the South Devon Railway and Seaton Tramway too.

Doggy Devon is a destination website and published Guide which promotes dog friendly Devon places to eat, drink, stay and play.
