Enjoy a great stay at the White Hart Hotel a Georgian coaching inn since 1775 and right in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park in Moretonhampstead, recently voted Best Town in Devon.
Some of the hotels 28 character bedrooms have breath-taking views over Dartmoor, new family owners have recently totally refurbished the restaurant and bars and the town has been described as having ‘space to breathe’ and is a ‘small but perfectly formed town… on the edge of Dartmoor.’
Superbly appointed ensuite bedrooms have been designed and equipped for your comfort and enjoyment such as soft and firm pillows, complimentary SKY channels and even TNT Sports all on a wide-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and bathroom toiletries.
The hotel is the perfect base to tour the 386 square miles of Dartmoor either by car, walking, cycling or to carry out numerous other country pursuits. Because of its central position it’s also easy to visit both the South and North coasts of Devon returning each day to the comfort, luxury and fine food of the hotel with its delightful courtyard to sit in during summer and by its roaring log fires in winter.
Dining is in the superbly refurbished restaurant or more casually in our new lounge-bar. Classic British lunch and dinner dishes, seasonal specialities and other favourites are individually cooked to order by our chefs who create unforgettable meals using fresh and almost all locally sourced ingredients. Also, Light Bites available all day, cream teas in the afternoon and roasts on Sundays.

The White Hart Hotel is at the crossroads of the two main roads that cross Dartmoor and is therefore easy to reach from all directions.
From the east and M5 take A38 Devon Expressway from near Exeter for 11 miles and then turn right onto the A382. Follow A382 for 9 miles to the hotel on left in centre of Moretonhampstead.
From the west and A30 turn right at Whiddon Down onto the A382 for 7 miles to the hotel on right in centre of Moretonhampstead.
From Torquay and south coast of Devon drive to the A38 then join A382 and drive north for 7 miles as above.
