We're doing Valentine's Day a little differently at the Kings Arms this year; for one night only, we'll be serving a unique five-course tasting menu, created exclusively for us by our talented chef, Keenan. Showcasing the delicious, locally-sourced produce we're known for, our Valentine's tasting menu promises a truly unforgettable evening; sit down together to enjoy a series of beautifully presented (and seriously delicious) dishes, and it will soon become clear that this is not your average dinner date…
The Menu
Whether it's beef from our family farm, crab from our own fishing boats, or our favourite Westcountry cheeses, every ingredient of our Valentine's tasting menu has been carefully chosen, and each dish strikes a careful balance between tradition and innovation. As the tasting menu comprises five courses rather than three, plates are sized accordingly (trust us – you won't leave feeling hungry!) and the menu is accompanied by a complementary glass of red or white wine. For Valentine's night only, we won't be offering any other menu, though Keenan is happy to create a bespoke vegetarian tasting menu on request - just let us know your requirements when booking.
The Chef
Full of brilliant ideas and buzzing with enthusiasm, Chef Keenan has been a member of the Kings Arms team since October 2023. Inspired to cook at a young age, thanks to his Grandad, Keenan worked an apprenticeship at nearby Lympstone Manor under Michelin-starred Michael Caines. Following a stint working in restaurants nationwide, including working with Michelin-starred chef Tom Brown, Keenan joined us here at the Kings, where his love for his work really shines. As well as creating menus that really make the most of delicious, locally-sourced produce, Keenan goes the extra mile by foraging for the seasonal, super-local ingredients that make his dishes so exceptional.
The Setting
The menu may have changed for Valentine's Day, but rest assured that the ambience will stay the same. Service is friendly and informal, and our relaxed and cosy restaurant is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a truly special (and truly delicious!) evening.
£50pp, includes 5-courses, canapés and a glass of wine
