The Dartmouth Newcomen Engine was awarded an IMechE Heritage Award in October 2017. Now, the Dartmouth Visitor Centre, Newcomen Society and IMechE Devon and Cornwall Area Committee invite you to visit this exciting piece of history that has been underappreciated for decades.
The event will start with an introduction to Newcomen and the history and mechanics of Newcomen Engines. It will be followed up with an opportunity to climb down under the workings of the engine for those who want to.
We will finish off the event with a networking session and some drinks and nibbles for those who want to get to know the opportunities for members in the area. The visitor centre can only accommodate a limited number of people, so book your space now.
