Opening Times

Sorry, this event has passed

These courses will be held near the Riverside Valley Park, in the area around the Double Locks, a beautiful canal-side pub on the outskirts of Exeter. The hedgerows and fields surrounding the canal provide a variety of tasty edibles throughout spring and early summer.
The course begins at the Double Locks with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the Countryside Act.
Then, we'll set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk along the surrounding area identifying the different edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms that we find.
We'll stop along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments such as our lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup or elderflower champagne.
Then it's back to the pub for a wild food lunch based on what we have found and some pre-prepared homemade treats.
After the course we will email you a list of everything we talked about on the day to help you to remember what you have learnt.
Please see website for full details of times and further course dates at this venue.
