This coming Bank Holiday weekend Friday 24th to Monday 27th May sees the South Devon Railway's popular Spring Beer Festival take place again at scenic Staverton Station - the mid point of the seven-mile line which is celebrating its 50th Golden anniversary year of reopening in 2019!
There will be over 45 real ales and ciders on offer plus craft beer, wines, Prosecco, Pimms and, NEW for this year, a cocktail bar too!
The main bar will be open from 11.00am until late (6.00pm Monday). Food and light refreshments will be available throughout the day. There is a marquee and bar in the Yard area too.
Visitors can treat themselves to the barbecue on Friday and Saturday evening, with chilli and a quiz on Sunday evening.
And, whether you’re visiting the festival or not, there are steam and heritage diesel services running all day, every day and, at Buckfastleigh, the 1964 London Transport red Routemaster bus will be giving rides up to Ashburton.
Festival visitors are advised that there is no car parking at Staverton, so they should take the train from Buckfastleigh, where there’s a large, free car park or, if you’re coming by train, the station at Totnes Riverside is about a 500 yard walk from the main line station.
