SeaSports Southwest, based in Teignmouth is excited to launch a second year of SeaSports Holiday Club; a wet and wild summer holidays programme aimed at young and aspiring water sport enthusiasts and those looking to try something new this July and August. Children aged eight years and over can take part in two or five-day courses in activities such as dinghy sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
SeaSports Holiday Club will start on Monday 23rd July at its beautiful location at back beach, Teignmouth. The Mixed Activity Week offers a taste of all the children’s activities provided by the centre; including sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, paddle boarding and rounding off the week with fun and games including paddle board football and a presentation of prizes and certificates.
Those looking to put the wind in their sails can embark on the 5-day adventure of the sailing and windsurfing course. Each day, RYA qualified instructors will teach new skills and encourage young sailors to progress from beginners to improvers or even experts by the end of the week.
Many two-day courses are available in dinghy sailing, kayaking and windsurfing. Dinghy sailing courses start at level one and progress to level 4 offering a seafaring experience for beginners, intermediate and advance sailors alike.
Kayaking is a fantastic way to see the South Devon coastline and wildlife. Young kayakers will learn to paddle with control, and develop the fundamental skills required to navigate the seas. Absolute beginners to the world of water sports need look no further than the introductory level 1 windsurfing two-day course. All the fun and no theory, SeaSports aim to get learners up and sailing around in no time!
The bay in Teignmouth offers a fun, safe environment to learn the basics and improve skills across the range of water sports available. All equipment including wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets are provided by SeaSports for all courses.
Full course details, including costs and times can be found at www.seasports-sw.com or by calling 01626 772555.
