Immerse yourself in a Gilbert and Sullivan classic performed by Illyria at Coleton Fishacre, the country home of the D'Oyly Carte family. Sharp satire and glittering wit, 'The Pirates of Penzance' is as fresh as if it had been written today.
Frederick apprenticed to the Pirates since a child, reaches the age of 21 and announces to the Pirate King that he is to leave them, to seek his fortune in a more wholesome way than piracy. He reaches land and finds Major Stanley's beautiful daughters, falling in love with Mabel. He learns that he was born on 29 February, and that he is contracted to the Pirate King until his 21st BIRTHDAY, not his 21st year. Laughter, capers and love in true style with the iconic opera of Gilbert and Sullivan
Please bring blankets or low backed-furniture and don't forget to wrap up warm as temperatures may drop during the performance. Feel free to bring a picnic but please consider that space is limited.
