'Pop-Up Photographic Exhibition'
4th February 2025, 5-9 p.m. at The Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot
Following on from the success of its 2024 exhibition, Newton Abbot Photographic Club (NAPC) will again host a photographic exhibition featuring work by members of NAPC and A-Level students from local Schools.
The aims of the exhibition are twofold. First, to raise awareness of photography as an art form and secondly, to both encourage and showcase the work of the next generation of photographers.
NAPC Chairman Kevin Bennett says that "Last year's event was widely considered a great success and consequently, the participants were keen to organise another exhibition this year. We are very pleased that they have expanded the event to embrace students from a fourth local school".
There will be two exhibition spaces. In one space visitors will be able to view printed images and examples of the portfolios created by students as part of their A-Level assessment. In a second area, there will be a continuous slideshow of projected images to provide an opportunity to present a large number and variety of images from all the participants.
The Courtenay Centre is generously supporting the exhibition and will be opening their café for the benefit of visitors.
Entry to the event will be free. The participants will be delighted to welcome the members of other photographic clubs in addition to the general public from the Newton Abbot district and the many parents and friends of the students.
The four schools taking part in the exhibition are: - Newton Abbot College; Coombeshead Academy; South Dartmoor Community College and Teign School.
