Educating Rita
Bishopsteignton Village Hall April 20, 21 and 22. Doors open 7.00 Curtain up 7.30
Willy Russel's beloved comedy charts the relationship between world-weary university tutor, Frank, and the sparky, but ill-educated Rita.
What sort of school did you go to?
Just normal, like all the other schools by us; borin', ripped-up books, glass everywhere, knives and fights and sadists- an' that was just the staff room…
Will their relationship as cynical teacher and eager Open University student develop into something more? Will Rita's unsophisticated enthusiasm turn Frank from his alcoholic descent or drive him over the brink? Will Frank's lessons help Rita to blossom and find herself, or will she lose the vibrant individuality that draws him to her?
It's a bumpy journey that's thought-provoking, angry and moving, as well as hilarious.
Includes strong language.
And there's a bar. What more could you want?
