Sorry, this event has passed
the scenes of an artist's studio. If you are an art lover looking for creative and interesting people and places, then a cornucopia of art will be waiting for you.
This year's Devon Open Studios features more artists than ever, demonstrating and showcasing their work in attics, sheds, galleries, gardens and other creative spaces, including some of Devon's most beautiful locations. Over 300 resident artists and craftspeople will open their studios to show and sell their individual artworks to the public. Explore a diverse range of venues from potters' studios in meadows to medieval barns, sinuous sculpture gardens or a beach hut by the sea. These hidden havens reveal fascinating work in every medium that allows the opportunity to purchase unique and affordable art, directly from the artist.
The art and craft on display will include drawing, painting, sculpture, tapestry, ceramics, jewellery and glasswork. Artists range from new talent to experienced professionals, all keen to share their inspiration and creativity with visitors.
Visitors are encouraged to support local artists and makers by buying their work – whether it's a large sculpture or a small greetings card – or even by simply helping to spread the word on social media.
There will be a range of free exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops, opportunities to see artists at work, and to celebrate the range of talent across the county.
Venture out on self guided art tours using our free full colour event guide or just by spontaneously following the yellow arrows scattered about the countryside. Meet the artists, participate in workshops and events, or simply create your own journey of discovery in this most spectacular landscape.
