Devon General Centenary Bus Rally & Running Day

With over 50 vehicles entered, this vintage bus rally and running day will celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Devon General bus company.
Devon General's red and cream buses ran throughout South and East Devon providing essential public transport for locals and holiday makers alike, and its Grey Cars coaches ran excursions and tours to places across the South West and beyond.
Organised by the Devon General Society with support from Stagecoach, the event is expected to be the largest gathering of old Devon General buses and coaches for many years.
There will also be classic buses from other West Country fleets, plus a DG100 exhibition bus and a display of modern Stagecoach buses.
The running day offers free round trip bus rides to four local destinations including open-top buses to Teignmouth, weather permitting.
This should be a fascinating day for those who remember the old Devon General and for today's generation to see how bus travel used to be.
There is free car parking for visitors and a free shuttle bus will run to and from Newton Abbot railway station.
Entry is free and there will be sales stands offering bus memorabilia. There is a cafe on site.
The event will run from 1000 to 1600.
