The Old Market in Dartmouth is the place to be from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 3rd December for a Christmas Fair in aid of Children's Hospice South West. With stalls selling all sorts of desirables, including cards, crafts, wreaths, jewellery, driftwood art, books, cakes and more, plus balloon sculptures and the local children's Dashing Devon Dukes ukulele band to boot!
CHSW is the only children's hospice in the South West, providing essential specialist care and support for over 500 families of children with life-limiting conditions from across the South West. With three hospices in the region, no family has to travel more than an hour and a half to access support. This costs over £11 million every year. Only 17% of this is provided by Government, and the rest is raised by fundraising at events such as this.
Dartmouth & District Friends Group meets once a month to organise events locally to raise money and awareness for this vital charity. Volunteers are always most welcome - any help is very much appreciated– ring Sue on 01803 770730 or email tweed833@btinternet.com.
