Open all year round and situated just one mile from Totnes, the historic Dartington Estate offers a great day out in Devon, with 1200 acres of rolling landscape to explore, including a Grade II* Listed RHS Partner Garden, boasting an original Henry Moore sculpture and a number of ancient trees, plus a medieval deer park, woodland trails and river walks, it has it all.
There’s much to do on wet weather days too, with a packed film programme showing at the estate’s unique Barn Cinema housed in a remarkable 15C restored building, a regular show of events, short-courses and live entertainment, plus delicious food served daily from the Green Table café and White Hart restaurant’s medieval dining hall and relaxed al-fresco lawn and terrace garden.
Visit Dartington and discover more about the Hall’s incredible history dating back to 14C, from the reign of King Richard II and the home of the first Duke of Exeter, through to the many famous pioneers and custodians who were involved in shaping the estate into what it is today.
Dartington Trust Estate is also home to the Cider Press Centre; a collection of shops including a Gallery, homeware, food, clothing, gifts, toys and more, offering a range of carefully selected, local artisan products from South-West based suppliers.
With great value year-round B&B accommodation on offer, including elegant courtyard rooms, budget friendly apartments and a spacious family-friendly campsite on the grounds (open during mid - high season), the estate caters for country holidays and short breaks too, as well as weddings and corporate events.
