Exeter is Devon’s capital city and is full of history, culture, shopping and local food and drink. The Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (or RAMM for short) is a great place to start your day with exhibitions, archaeology, art, natural history and more.
Catch the X64 from Exeter Bus Station and begin your journey towards Newton Abbot.
Newton Abbot
Newton Abbot is a traditional market town and has an important history with the South Devon Railway and Great Western Railway. There is plenty to see and do in the historic town, including beautiful parks and the river Teign, however you can also hop on the Number 39 bus to Bovey Tracey, where you can visit the Devon Guild of Craftsmen or House of Marbles.
Back on the bus, the journey from Newton Abbot to Totnes takes you through some beautiful South Devon countryside, and on a clear day, you can see across to Dartmoor.
Totnes
Totnes is a town like no other – independent and full of charm and history. The bus stops right outside the Royal Seven Stars Hotel – perfect for a coffee or lunch in their bar and restaurant. Take a walk up the high street to discover some truly unique shops. Totnes Castle is a must see, the English Heritage castle is the focal point of the town, standing as a legacy to the once powerful Normans.
From Totnes you can relax and take a boat down the River Dart with the Dartmouth Steam Railway and Riverboat Company, or take the steam train to Buckfastleigh on the South Devon Railway.
Back on the bus, the drive from Totnes to Dartmouth takes you through beautiful charming villages and hamlets, and farming countryside.
As you approach Dartmouth, the bus stops directly outside the popular Woodlands Family Themepark – a real treat for the kids.

Dartmouth is on the mouth of the River Dart opposite the picturesque village of Kingswear, with its enchanting streets and scenic river location you have to go a long way to find a town as pretty.
Dartmouth has a strong maritime heritage and is home to Dartmouth Castle and the Britannia Royal Naval College. The cobbled streets are packed with independent shops and galleries and wonderful restaurants serving fresh seafood. Radius 7 in Stoke Fleming sources their suppliers from only a 7 mile radius, so you can be sure a beautiful local meal.
