The Church House Inn dates back to the 1400’s and gave accommodation to the artisans working on the Church, after which it became a meeting house for the church congregation and finally the Village Inn. Part of the building was a bakery and the oven can still be seen today. The building itself is rather special with its unique Strawberry Gothic Windows.
Today, this multi award winning Grade 2 Listed Country Pub Restaurant/Award Winning Pub Garden is the place to go for a wonderful dining experience, in beautiful surroundings and in the warmer months an amazing garden to relax and enjoy refreshments. A great bar area to pop in for a drink. Open 7 days a week serving Lunch and Dinner our Chef’s use the finest local produce to create an array of dishes and the Menu changes regularly. A small plate option is available lunch times (except Sundays). Sunday Lunch includes Roasted Fillet of Beef.
Local Ales are found on the bar together with an impressive Wine List with wines from around the world, including local wine and organic wine. Champagne to celebrate those special occasions or simply a treat!
You will find a well established team taking great pride in ensuring your visit is as enjoyable as possible.
Situated on the door step of Torbay, very easy to get to but situated in a typical Devon Village that has a strong community with many events throughout the year where people come from miles around to enjoy. A village space opposite the pub hosts many things including the village Cricket Team.
If you enjoy walking there are circular routes both long and short making the pub a popular place for ramblers to enjoy refreshments along the way.
Disabled toilets are provided, however access into the building is tricky. If you call us before you come we will do everything we can to help.
