Bonfire Night, Plymouth - 5th November 

Plymouth hosts one of the largest Bonfire Night events in South Devon. Set against the stunning backdrop of Plymouth Sound, this event features a huge bonfire and a breathtaking firework display synchronized with music. Thousands gather along the waterfront, creating a festive and family-friendly atmosphere. With funfair rides and delicious food stalls, it’s the perfect way to enjoy Bonfire Night by the coast.

Ottery St. Mary Tar Barrels - 5th November 

This unique event in Ottery St. Mary is unlike any other. On the night of Bonfire Night, locals carry flaming tar barrels through the streets in a tradition that dates back centuries. Spectators line the streets to watch the thrilling procession, and the event culminates in a bonfire celebration, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with excitement. The evening tar barrel event begins at 7pm and is not suitable for young children, animals, or individuals with limited mobility, as it becomes very crowded.

Teign Valley Fireworks - 5th November 

Set in the heart of the Teign Valley, this fireworks display offers a more intimate, community-centered experience. With a cozy bonfire lighting up the surrounding hills and a vibrant fireworks show that illuminates the valley, it's a perfect night for families. Attendees can enjoy a range of food stalls, warm drinks, and live entertainment, creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Moretonhampstead Firework Night – 1st November 

The town of Moretonhampstead comes alive each year with a vibrant Bonfire Night celebration that draws families and friends from across South Devon. Nestled in the heart of Dartmoor, this charming village offers a magical setting for the festivities. The event includes a spectacular firework display, live entertainment, and a roaring bonfire, creating a cosy and festive atmosphere for all ages. 

Admission is just £5, with children under 3 getting in for free. Tickets are available at the gate, so no need to book in advance. Free limited car parking is available on-site, but if you fancy a short walk, the town centre and its car parks are just a stone’s throw away. 

Newton Abbot Rugby Club Bonfire and Fireworks – 2nd November 

Newton Abbot hosts a popular Bonfire Night event at the rugby club, perfect for families and groups looking to enjoy a night of fireworks and fun. Along with the main firework display, there’s a massive bonfire and plenty of food and drink stalls to keep everyone warm and well-fed. The atmosphere is always buzzing, with live music and entertainment adding to the night’s festivities.

Double Locks, Exeter, Firework and Bonfire Night – 2nd November 

For an event that combines the beauty of nature with the excitement of Bonfire Night, the Double Locks in Exeter is a fantastic choice. This venue, located along the Exeter Canal, hosts a dazzling firework display and a large bonfire that draws in crowds from all over. The town comes together to enjoy a stunning firework display that lights up the historic streets and riverside. In addition to the fireworks, a large bonfire provides warmth and a traditional focal point for the evening, ensuring a perfect Bonfire Night celebration in a scenic setting.

Totnes YFC Charity Bonfire and Firework Night, Brixham Road, Paignton – 8th November 

This event, hosted by the Totnes Young Farmers Club, is a fantastic way to enjoy Bonfire Night while supporting a good cause. Held on Brixham Road in Paignton, this event includes a huge bonfire and a spectacular firework display. Brixham Town FC Bonfire Night – 9th November
