Enjoy a 2023 getaway with Beverley Holidays

Back in November we were invited to stay at one of the gorgeous lodges at Beverley Holidays in Paignton. Located on the stunning English Riviera, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a family holiday, or a cheeky couple’s getaway without the kids! We had a lovely stay here, read about our experience below to find out why we think you should book your 2023 getaway with Beverley Holidays.  

The Lodge 

Our home for the duration of our stay was a Collection Lodge, boasting 3 bedrooms, including one with an en-suite, a beautiful open-plan living area, modern kitchen facilities and unbeatable views of the English Riviera. Not to mention the gorgeous hot tub outside on the decking. These lodges sleep up to six people so they’re suitable for a family, but also perfect for a romantic getaway for two. The en-suite bedroom consists of a king-size bed, a large wardrobe and a TV, plus the shower, toilet and sink in the bathroom. Each of the smaller bedrooms are fitted with two single beds, a wardrobe and a TV. The kitchen was a cooking-enthusiasts dream. It was large with plenty of space, plus excellent cookware and plenty of dinnerware, with a built in fridge freezer, oven, hob and sink too. There’s also a dishwasher, coffee machine and a microwave for those who like to make cooking and cleaning up a bit easier. We were also treated to a yummy tea and coffee welcome pack, plus luxury popcorn to enjoy. The living area was comprised of a luxurious L-shape sofa, a large home theatre-style TV, complete with a sound bar and colour-changing lights for added vibes. Behind the sofa was the dining table backed by sliding glass doors so you’re able to enjoy the view whilst tucking into your food. The decking area is perfectly placed to overlook the gorgeous coastline that surrounds Paignton, Torquay and Brixham, making it the perfect backdrop for a dip in the hot tub.  

A dip in the pool 

During our trip we fancied a dip in their indoor pool. The Tropical Pool was surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants which is reminiscent of a sun-soaked holiday abroad, and the heated pool made for a luxurious swimming session. We did a few laps of the pool before heading into the Jacuzzi to unwind. The indoor pool also boasts a sauna and a steam room for those seeking a sanctuary to relax, and for the more active people, there’s a wonderful gym on site with a wide range of state-of-the-art machines and weights. There’s also a children's pool for your little ones to splash around in too! As we visited in the colder season, the outdoor pool wasn’t open, but in the summer this area is an absolute haven, it’s the perfect way to cool off from the sun’s heat. 

Mini-golf fun! 

One of our highlights of the trip was playing a round of their Adventure Golf. As you’ll know from our trip to Babbacombe Model Village earlier in the year, we love a round of crazy golf, even if we’re not the best at it… Beverley Holiday’s Adventure golf course, Land Ahoy Adventure Island, consists of 9 holes, each with their own unique obstructions and props. Land Ahoy Adventure Island was a brand new feature in 2022 and we can confidently say it was as fun as it looks! Next to the mini-golf course, is the playpark, consisting of ocean-themed playground equipment, so your little ones can slide, climb and swing to their hearts content.  

Other Activities 

As mentioned earlier, we visited during their winter season so some of their activities and facilities weren’t open due to the quieter period. In the warmer months, from April – October, and during half term holidays, you can enjoy everything that Beverley Holidays has to offer. This includes their 2 outdoor pools, family entertainment every night, from gameshows to dance parties, inflatable water courses, archery and tasty meals in their five on-site eateries. We visited for a day in the summer for a guided tour of the park so you can find out more about the excellent things to do here.  

The Local Area 

If you are thinking of visiting Beverley Holidays, you’ll be happy to know that there’s plenty of great activities and attractions in the local area. As the park is situated in Goodrington, it’s a short stroll away to the nearest beach, with plenty of others to choose from along the English Riviera coastline. If you’re looking for a fun day out, Paignton Zoo is close by and Babbacombe Model Village in Torquay makes for a unique and exciting day out. Each of the towns along the bay boast their own individual characters; Brixham is a vibrant fishing town with exquisite seafood on offer as well as Berry Head Nature Reserve, an important wildlife and historical site, whilst Paignton is your typical seaside resort containing a lively peer, plenty of arcades and abundance of chippies. Torquay has it’s iconic harbourside, rich in atmosphere and has plenty of great independent businesses and high street names in the town centre, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of retail therapy.
