Café Alf Resco, Dartmouth
Café Alf Fresco is a great place to stop and grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. They provide a relaxed atmosphere and serve local and freshly prepared food and drink. If you fancy something sweet to go with your coffee, why not try their one of their selections of locally made cakes and pastries. If you’re after a heartier meal or brunch, they have a menu with plenty of options to suit everyone. It’s one of the most unique and atmospheric coffee shops in Dartmouth and is somewhat of a hidden gem in this lovely town.
The Kitchen at The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth
If you’re looking for a coffee stop in East Devon, try The Kitchen in Sidmouth. Located at The Donkey Sanctuary, The Kitchen offers farm-fresh food whilst you soak up the views of the sanctuary, and the rolling hills towards the Jurassic Coastline. With an emphasis of on serving fresh, seasonal produce, all made on-site by expert chefs who hand-pick the finest ingredients. Their coffee is locally sourced and delicious too! As they are an animal welfare organisation, all their meat is responsibly sourced, and they have a vast range of vegetarian and vegan options.
Café – ODE at Ness Cove, Shaldon
If you fancy stopping somewhere for a coffee with a view, ODE Café at Ness Cove is a great place to go. Not only do they offer speciality coffee, but they also offer a sensational menu, filled with local and fresh produce. They have a lovely outdoor seating area but if the weather is a little bit chilly to be sitting outside, why not warm up with a cup of coffee, or a hot chocolate – you can even make it boozy! The café is located on the South West Coast Path and has spectacular views and access to local beaches.
Owens Coffee, Ivybridge
Owens Coffee have been roasting organic and Fairtrade coffee since 2010. Their roasting premise is located in Ivybridge where they have a café serving their delicious coffee, they also offer hand crafted cakes. They pride themselves on being as sustainable as possible, which includes looking after the people and community involved in producing their coffee and the environment. They have a lovely outside decking area to sit and drink your coffee in the sun.
Exploding Bakery, Exeter
Located near Exeter Central Station, the Exploding Bakery has somewhat made a name for itself in the food and drink industry. As well as making incredible cakes and pastries, they also have their own speciality coffee. You can sit inside or park yourself on their outside benches and watch the world go by.
Port Espresso, Brixham
Serving Artisanal coffee and brunch daily in the heart of Brixham is Port Espresso. It’s a small and quaint coffee shop but oozes atmosphere. They have their own coffee blend – which is super tasty, and you can even buy it in a bag to take home!
The Hairy Barista, Totnes
Totnes is full of unique, independent gems but The Hairy Barista is one of the best. Their passion is coffee and tasty food – which is abundantly clear in the products they sell. They also offer speciality drinks such as matcha tea, turmeric lattes and freshly prepared juices and smoothies.
Music & Bean, Okehampton
Music & Bean are an all-encompassing music and coffee shop in Okehampton, located in the beautiful Victorian Arcade. If you’re in the area, you should definitely pop in to browse their selection of records, say hi to their friendly staff and try a slice of one of their tasty cakes!
