Guest Blog Post - Blackdown Hills Beer & Music Festival (10th - 11th August)
The festival was founded in 1996 by a group of parents with the aim to provide funding for a music teacher at our local primary school. It quickly became a huge success and since, has been able to give substantial grants to schools and community groups in the Blackdown Hills. Being able to do this has put a huge smile on our faces as it is our belief that everyone, regardless of age, ability, experience of income, should have the opportunity to enjoy making music!
Organised and run entirely by our dedicated and enthusiastic committee of volunteers allows all proceeds to be given out in grants for musical education in our local schools. Other recipients of Festival grants have been Churchinford Youth Club, Churchinford Youth Dance Group, Blackdown Hills Folk Band, The Sheldon Singers, Clayhidon Church Organ Restoration Project & the Blackdown Hills Music Group.
We have a great line up for you with Los Albertos headlining Friday night & The Skaravan Club closing the Festival on Saturday. You can see the full line up on our website, book tickets & find out everything else you need to know.
