Guest Blog Post - Cullompton Spring Festival
We’re very excited about our third Spring Festival here at Cullompton. The festival was inspired by a few passionate food lovers in the town and has grown from year to year accompanied by an equally successful Autumn Festival in October. People have been pleasantly surprised in the quality of food, drink, craft and music on offer – plus it’s absolutely free to visitors throughout the town. The event is sponsored by a few local businesses and the local council and is run by a voluntary committee comprised of the various venues- The Walronds, The Community Centre, The Hayridge library, The Farmers’ Market and the Methodist church together with councillors and local businesses.
This year we are pleased to welcome some well known chefs at The Walronds such as Bruno Milford-Dummett and Lewie Gordon Baker to demonstrate their skills and entertain. The Community Centre will be indulging in wine tasting, with wine and cheese platters and there will be an interesting demo on bee keeping. We have Tiverton Community Radio based in the award winning Farmers’ Market, introducing our guest musicians and keeping you in the picture with what is going on. For programme details follow us on Facebook: Cullompton SpringFest.
There is plenty to do for the children too – crafts, bouncy castle, smoothie bikes and of course plenty to eat and drink. So, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea you are looking for, you will find it! And plenty of shelter at each venue if the weather doesn’t play ball.
Parking is available in 3 central car parks plus on the outskirts of town. Access is very easy from Junction 28 on the M5. Regular buses from Exeter and from Tiverton through Tiverton Parkway station, Uffculme and Willand.
A warm welcome awaits you, so put it in your diary now!
