South Devon is a great place for dogs and their owners to visit at any time of year. With Dartmoor, the largest moorland in southern England on our doorstep and the South West Coastal Path edging the county, there’s plenty to explore. A recent CAMRA survey showed that Devon has more dog friendly pubs than any other county in England (770), so there’s no shortage of places to stop for a drink and something to eat.
If we had to choose our perfect time of year for dogs to come to Devon it would be March. Days are getting longer, the sun is getting warmer and dogs are still allowed on almost all local beaches.
So that’s why, this March, we are doing our best to encourage dogs and their owners to visit. During the month we will be offering a special, all inclusive, A La Bark Breakfast treat menu, in addition to the welcome hamper offered to all canine visitors.
And because we know that not all dogs are as fortunate as our own and the many much loved pets who come and stay with us, we will be donating all dog charges we receive in the month to our local animal rescue and rehoming charity, Animals in Distress.
The dogs of Animals in Distress have been working with us on the menu. So far their favourite item seems to be the poached egg with duck skin soldiers, although the bacon and Bonio rolls went down very well, too!
If you think that your dog deserves a treat and you would like to join us in raising much needed funds for our local animal centre, please give us a ring to book your stay on 01803 873411. For more details of this offer and bringing your dog to stay with us, please see our website http://bulleighbartonmanor.co.uk/dogs.html
