Tell us a bit about the history of Budleigh Food Festival?
Now in its 3rd year, the Budleigh Food and Drink Festival is a packed weekend of entertainment for the whole family. The main site of the foodie festival is situated in and around the Public Hall and on The Green, in the beautiful seaside town of Budleigh Salterton.
The festival kicks off at 10am on the Saturday morning. Throughout the weekend there will be food demonstrations and talks, a local Real Ale Festival, children’s craft, games and workshops for all ages, along with family shows and entertainment. There will be a fabulous selection of food and drink with artisans, makers and producers from across the county, plus the new Living and Lifestyle marquee* hosting independent local designer-makers, organisations and businesses connected with the environment and well-being... not to mention the first Budleigh Master Chef competition - with the final on Sunday 9th at 3pm.
And if that isn’t enough to entertain you, there is also a fabulous schedule of live music; during the daytime on the new Acoustic Stage** in the market area and in the main entertainment marquee from 3pm each day, with more on Saturday evening from 7pm at The Afters Party - a double headlining live music concert in the Public Hall. The Afters Party is a ticketed event, £15pp, available on the festival website. So get the babysitters booked for that one, it’s time for the Mums & Dads to let their hair down!
