A short drive or train trip away from Dawlish is Dawlish Warren, the journey can also be made by walking along the sea wall which hugs the spectacular red cliffs. Along the walk, which follows the route of the Great Western Mainline, you can enjoy stunning views out to sea and along the coastline. Dawlish Warren is a busy seaside resort with attractions, pubs and accommodation as well as a Blue Flag beach, sand dunes and nature reserve.
Dawlish is located close to The Exe Estuary, where the River Exe meets the sea with Dawlish Warren on one side of the river and Exmouth on the other. The two are linked by the Exe Estuary Trail a 26 mile mainly flat cycle and walkway which follows the banks for the river and passes through the City of Exeter and a number of smaller charming villages.
