Opening Times

Sorry, this event has passed

Join us for a walk, talk & big butterfly count on the Riverford Farm with experts from The Butterfly Conservation team, and our head gardener Penny Hemming. Followed by an organic lunch at The Riverford Field Kitchen: a feast of inspiring, veg-centric dishes to pass around and share with fellow guests.

Organic farms are helping to look after our wildlife by managing and maintaining habitats. On average, plant, insect and bird life is 50% more abundant on organic farms, and home to 30% more species on average.

The Butterfly Conservation team of experts will talk about the huge contribution that organic farms make to butterflies and what you can do in your own garden at home to help them, and lots more!

They will also point out other wildlife and you will also take part in the nationwide Big Butterfly Count which identifies trends in species that will help us plan how to protect butterflies from extinction, as well as understand the effect of climate change on wildlife.

£5 from every adult ticket sale will be donated to Butterfly Conservation to help protect this species for future generations.

(NB: we do not do a separate menu for children, they eat the same set menu as the adults).

Guide Prices

£29.50 per adult and £14.75 per child (3-12).
£5 from every adult ticket sale will be donated to Butterfly Conservation to help protect this species for future generations.
