Come along and find out what Dartmoor Zoo can offer you and your school with our Teachers Go Free weekend, proudly sponsored by Tamar Coaches and Tallyho Coaches. Over the two days of 1st and 2nd March, teachers and teaching support staff will get free entry into the Zoo when they present their school IDs. We will have our classroom spaces open for you to explore and drop in sessions running to meet the Education team and get a taster of our workshop offerings.
Conservation education is at the core of Dartmoor Zoo's mission. Our educational offering currently reaches around 5000 students each year and we would love to grow this by welcoming more schools on site. We have developed our workshops with clear curriculum links, alongside our biggest assets…our animals! Teachers Go Free weekend is our chance to introduce you to all of this and allow you to explore the zoo site with colleagues, friends or family.
Running on the day (subject to change)
Pod classroom – 10.30am to 2.30pm – explore our main classroom space with our amazing selection of bio-artefacts that we use to bring topics to life
Jaguar suite drop-in sessions – 11am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 3pm – meet a member of the education team for a run down of exactly what we can offer you and your school
Animal talks – take a look at our talk board at the top of the hill for what we have on each day
