Join South Devon AONB and our partners to discover more about the heritage of the Bolt Head to Bolt Tail headland and the stories that have shaped the landscape right back to 11,000 years ago!
There will be tours around the archaeological dig site which have been taking place on Bolt Tail Iron Age promontory fort Scheduled Monument all week, as well as a chance to find out more about the wider project and what we have found!
There will be displays, activities and guided walks throughout the afternoon.
This activity is part of the National Heritage Open Days scheme.
BOOKING INFORMATION:
- Free event, no need to book.
- Suitable for adults and young people aged 14+ with an interest in local history or archaeology. Under 18s will need to be accompanied by an adult.
KNOW BEFOR EYOU GO:
- DOGS: Well behaved dogs, under close control and on a lead are welcome
- MOBILITY: Uneven underfoot and steep climb up from the village. Sorry there is no wheelchair access
- WHAT TO BRING: Please dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Wear sturdy footwear. Bring water (and snacks if required)
- PARKING: Local car park, charges apply
- FACILITIES: Toilets, Cafe/restaurants
