Over the Easter Weekend at the South Devon Railway there'll be a two-train timetable running using the Blue timetable with seven trains a day, see https://www.southdevonrailway.co.uk/special-events/easter-2019/. The locos in service will be GWR locos Nos. 5526, 6412 & 9466.
The little Andrew Barclay 'Caledonia Works' will put on shunting demonstrations on all four days. This engine is 109 years old which makes it a bit of a star!
Other things include: An Easter Egg Hunt run by the Museum Group over the four days, the Miniature Railway will be in operation on all four days, the new children's play area is now open in the garden area adjacent to the mini-railway station, the Garden Railway is running small gauge steam trains (Saturday, Sunday & Monday), and some excellent archive film of the Railway in 1969 (the year we opened) can be seen in the newly restored Cinema Van.
On Easter Sunday & Easter Monday, the Devon Vintage Car Club have organised a display of classic cars and motor bikes. Highlights are: a 1930 Ford Model 'A' Phaeton , 1927 Morris Cowley, 1929 Swift 10, 1933 Austin 12/4 Van, 1931 Ford Model A Roadster. Motorbikes are: 1924 Royal Enfield, two Brough Superior's (the make favoured by Lawrence of Arabia).
The usual things will all be open with the Museum, café, gift shop, Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies, and Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, plus our red London double-deck Routemaster bus will be running the service to the Abbey and Ashburton on all four days.
