2022 was an incredible year for our Comedy @ Royal William Yard events with multiple sell out shows. We are back with a bang for 2023 and are excited to announce a new venue, new touring headline acts and now shows on a Friday AND a Saturday!!
We have now teamed up with Block and will be using their beautiful Melville room for our comedy events. We are also going to be running 2 shows (same line up) back to back on a Friday and Saturday - giving more opportunity for more people to attend. There will be further announcements regarding potential food deals nearer show time.
And what a line up we have for our opening shows of 2023…..
Matt Price: A fantastic comic with incredible chops! Matt has been consistently funny in comedy venues of all shapes and sizes, all over the world from Penzance to Cambodia. He has completed 5 tours of Australia including Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne International comedy festival. He has been television warm up for Channel 4 and the TLC Channel, has
performed at thirteen Edinburgh Festivals and gained a reputation as a very funny but generous host, who can play any room and make a great atmosphere for the acts and the audience. Has been tour support for Stephen K Amos, Russell Kane and Norman Lovett. Every show is a unique rollercoaster, a true comic's comic…..
Anna Keirle: Back by popular demand! In 2003 Anna replied to an advert for new comedians. She had no material and had never done a stand up set. Her third ever gig saw her come second in the Funny Women awards. She reached the Edinburgh Fringe final of "So you think you're funny?" with her fifth gig, compered by Bill Bailey .Her sixth gig was in Torquay on a Wednesday night. Anna has a cheeky comedic storytelling style and has been described as a bumpkin, she has, however ,won the Weakest Link! Performing as a standup locally and Internationally a quick witted, responsive MC she has experience from festivals, and clubs to prestigious events.
Hosted by the Anarchic Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian: A Plymouth resident of 5 years, he has built a reputation as an original comic with a number of songs and skits regarding a variety of topics. A warm and lively host.
