Beaches, water sports and exploring the countryside has to be high on anyone’s list when visiting Teignmouth.
There are two main beaches in Teignmouth to enjoy, the long sandy Teignmouth Town Beach and the more traditional fishing Teignmouth River Beach. Paddle in the sea, build sandcastles, or take part in some watersports - there are local places to hire paddleboards and kayaks so you can explore the seaside to your hearts content.
Children will love Teignmouth - there is so much to see and do and to keep them entertained. On the Seafront you will find the Grand Pier, packed full of amusements for children of all ages, a childrens play area, a skate park, a miniature golf course, and the heated Lido for those who dont like the sea. Teignmouth Pavillions offers local events and screenings that will help entertain the children on the less sunny days, and the Teign Heritage Museum has exhibitions and galleries the whole family will enjoy.
Across the estuary month you’ll find Shaldon, with great places to eat and a family friendly beach this attractive seaside village provides a great destination for a trip or holiday.
For those that love the great outdoors, Teignmouth is a great place to base yourself for walking. Teignmouth sits on the South West Coast Path, and is also just a few miles drive away from Dartmoor National Park and the miles of footpaths and cycles routes to be explored on the moor and the surrounding countryside.
Try the Taste of the Teign Food Trail - a gourmet lovers delight, sampling all the local tastes and flavours that the River Teign Estuary has to offer.
