Jaguar at Dartmoor Zoo

Dartmoor Zoo, connecting people and wildlife.

Join us for a fun packed, animal filled day, on the edge of one of the UK’s most beautiful landscapes.

Hidden on the borders of Dartmoor National Park, Dartmoor Zoo boasts a wonderful 33 acres of woodland, celebrating a wide range of exotic and native animals, including the biggest variety of big cats in the South West of England. From the majestic Amur tiger, African lion and cheetah, to monkeys, meerkats and tapir, you’re bound to find some of your favourites. With our unique enclosure designs, you’ll also feel closer to these amazing animals than ever before.

Home of the Hollywood film 'We bought a Zoo', Dartmoor Zoo is a charity dedicated to wildlife conservation, education and research. We work hard to ensure that the development of the Zoo does not have an adverse effect on the beautiful woodland environment.

There are regular daily events such as public talks at feeding times, animal encounters and special activities for the family during the holidays such as trails and face-painting.

To refuel during the day, our Jaguar Restaurant is a great place to stop off for a coffee and cake or a freshly cooked lunch and there's space set aside for the under-fives to have in-door fun. Our gift shop is also located inside and is stocked full of unique gifts, cuddly toys, branded souvenirs and many more items suitable for all ages!

Dartmoor Zoo is open from 10am every day (closed on 24th, 25th and 26th December).

Closing times vary throughout the year so please check our website to find out more.

Couples looking for a truly unique wedding venue in Devon are encouraged to visit the Dartmoor Zoo weddings page to request more information.
