Located in the heart of the stunning English Riviera, the Princess Theatre, Torquay offers an unforgettable experience for all. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Torbay’s coastline, the theatre is a central part of the town’s cultural fabric.
The Princess Theatre, Torquay first opened its doors on Wednesday 7 June 1961 with Tommy Cooper and Morecombe & Wise top of the bill. It’s South Devon’s largest theatre with a seating capacity of 1514 after an auditorium refurbishment in Spring 2024. The venue has welcomed many West End touring productions including We Will Rock You, SIX, Heathers The Musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Sister Act. Top comedians, Russell Howard, Michael McIntyre, Dawn French, Jimmy Carr, Katherine Ryan and Rob Beckett have graced the stage as part of their UK tours and not forgetting iconic artists - Billy Ocean, Paloma Faith, Level 42, David Essex and Lulu.

Torquay train station is served by GWR and CrossCountry with frequent services running towards Exeter St David's and the South West. Located on the seafront, a 15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi journey from the theatre.
By bus
Bus stops are located on Torbay road, approximately 3 minutes walk from the theatre served all day by the number 12. For more information on bus times please check the Stagecoach app or website.
